Sabongi Consulting Group, Inc. designed the renovation of the historic (1903) Dyckman Free Library in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. The new facility seamlessly incorporates the charming original building, which has been a town landmark for almost a century. The library is now handicap-accessible and has more than twice as much shelf space. The new reading room, children's library, meeting rooms and staff work areas will serve the community and surrounding area for many years. |

HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (HRA) PROJECTS
DUPLEX
Sabongi Consulting Group, Inc. has built a substantial practice in the design of multi-family housing for city and county HRAs. We work with the HRA staffs to help them to identify their needs and to assess improvements which are required for their existing housing stock.
REICHERT PLACE HOTEL
Our firm assisted the HRA of Long Prairie, Minnesota, in the renovation of the historic Reichert Place Hotel (built in 1903) into apartments. The one-, two- and three-bedroom units will serve the needs of the Long Prairie community for many years. The Reichert Place has been a town landmark for nearly a century and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our task was to convert the building to a new use while retaining the historic character of the structure. The renovated building, completed in 2001, has off-street parking and a children's playground.

DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION Sabongi Consulting Group, Inc. has assisted more than two dozen communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin in the renovation and revitalization of their downtowns. We work with elected officials, city staffs and community residents to help them to identify and assess the strengths of their towns. We also provide the professional objectivity and design expertise which can help a community to recognize where it needs to improve itself. Our principals lead community meetings in which all interested individuals can express their concerns and hopes for their town. We guide the discussion and help the community to enumerate both its most vital qualities and its areas of weakness. Our skill at listening to all constituencies is a company trademark. ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) PROJECTS
When the ADA became law in 1990, it required public buildings to be accessible to all. It has also helped to change the ways in which mant Americans look at accessibility issues.
Sabongi Consulting Group, Inc. incorporates analysis of accessibility issues into every project. Our designers and technicans work with clients to insure that every project -- new construction or the renovation of historic buildings -- will be fully accessible. We are skilled in making old buildings accessible without compromising their historic integrity.
